Their bodies were discovered in the bedroom of their home on Tyus Road, as initially reported by local news outlet WSB-TV.
Patrick’s arrest comes nearly five months after the incident, during which she had initially called 911 to report the deaths. Authorities have not yet released details regarding a possible motive.

The charges come after what authorities described as an exhaustive investigation. In a press release shared on Facebook, officials said “mountains of physical and digital evidence” and “countless interviews” ultimately led them to Patrick.
“From the very moment the 911 call was received, a relentless investigation began — one that would span months, consume thousands of hours, and require the full weight of local and federal law enforcement partnerships,” the statement read.
Carroll County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Ashley Hulsey discussed the case during a press conference that was live-streamed on Facebook, reiterating the significant resources and coordination required to bring the investigation to this point.
Authorities have not released a potential motive, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Sarah was reportedly the one who called 911 after her 6-year-old sister discovered the bodies of their parents. Carroll County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Ashley Hulsey called the young child “the saddest victim” in the case.
Speaking during a live-streamed press conference, Hulsey said it was "hard to tell" if other family members were involved in the crime or its potential coverup, but emphasized that they had been "nothing but cooperative" with investigators.
Hulsey added that Sarah's father was present when the teen turned herself in, describing the situation as a “very horrific and sad case.”
“A big takeaway from this story — a mother and stepfather will never be able to raise their children,” Hulsey said.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not disclosed a motive.
